Uncover the raw and quietly stunning beauty of the Eastern Himalayas on this romantic escape across Gangtok, Pelling, and Darjeeling. Your journey begins with a nice and enjoyable drive to Gangtok from NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, where the road goes right alongside the beautiful Teesta River with tall green mountains on both sides, making the drive itself a lovely start to the whole trip. The next day takes you up to the beautiful Tsomgo Lake, which sits at a height of 12,400 feet and is surrounded by rocky snow covered peaks that make the whole place look and feel absolutely stunning. After that, you visit the well known and deeply respected Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, a place with a powerful story that touches your heart and stays with you long after you have left. If the permits are available on the day, a trip to the famous Nathula Pass makes the day even more special and exciting than it already is.
Day three opens up a quieter and more personal side of Gangtok as you visit Tashi Viewpoint, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Bakthang Waterfalls, Enchey Monastery, and the colorful Flower Exhibition Centre, each one offering its own unique charm and character.
Detailed Itinerary
Touch down at Bagdogra Airport or step off at the Railway Station and begin your journey up to Gangtok with the mountains slowly revealing themselves along the way. Check into your hotel, put your bags down, and take the rest of the afternoon at your own pace. As evening rolls in, head out for a relaxed walk along MG Marg, a place that comes alive with local crafts, lively shops, and the warm unhurried energy that only a mountain town can offer. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
