Once you are checked in and settled, the evening is yours to spend wandering through MG Marg, a lively stretch full of little shops, warm cafes, and the gentle buzz of hill town life. The next morning takes you up to the gorgeous Tsomgo Lake at 12,400 feet, followed by a heartfelt stop at the revered Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple. If permits allow, a visit to Nathula Pass adds a thrilling high altitude chapter to the day.
Day 3 opens up Gangtok's quieter, more personal side as you visit Tashi Viewpoint, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Bakthang Waterfalls, Enchey Monastery, and the Flower Exhibition Centre before making your way to Pelling. Here the pace softens beautifully as you wander through Darap Valley, catch the sound of Rimbi Waterfalls, explore Sewaro Rock Garden, and sit quietly by the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, all with Mt. Kanchenjunga watching over you in the distance.
Darjeeling comes next and it does not disappoint. You rise early to catch the sunrise at Tiger Hill, a moment that genuinely stops you in your tracks. On the way you pass through Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop, and the rest of the day takes you through the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, the Japanese Temple, and Peace Pagoda before a relaxed evening walk along Mall Road and Chowrasta closes things out warmly.
You head home after a mountain journey that gave you lakes, monasteries, waterfalls, and views wide enough to fill a lifetime of memories.
Detailed Itinerary
Touch down at Bagdogra Airport or step off at the Railway Station and begin your journey up to Gangtok with the mountains slowly revealing themselves along the way. Check into your hotel, put your bags down, and take the rest of the afternoon at your own pace. As evening rolls in, head out for a relaxed walk along MG Marg, a place that comes alive with local crafts, lively shops, and the warm unhurried energy that only a mountain town can offer. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
